MCCOMB, Miss. (WJTV) – A teenager was killed during an officer-involved shooting in McComb, and authorities are searching for other suspects in connection to the incident.

Bailey Martin, press secretary for the Mississippi Department of Public Safety (DPS), said the shooting occurred near the 200 block of 25th Street in McComb on November 14.

According to Martin, McComb police received calls about a suspicious vehicle in the area. When they arrived, officers located the vehicle, and two suspects exited the car. Martin said one of the suspects presented a weapon at the officers, and the officers shot and killed one suspect.

The Pike County identified the suspect who was killed as Jamorion Seiber, 16. His body was taken to the State Crime Lab.

The officers did not receive any serious physical injuries. McComb Mayor Quordiniah Lockley said one officer has been placed on administrative leave.

Martin said one person was arrested. Investigators believe three or four other suspects were inside the car. They were last seen in a gray 2016 Dodge Charger with the tag number PJP357. Investigators said the vehicle was later located unoccupied.

Agents with the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation (MBI) are investigating the officer-involved shooting and will share their findings with the Mississippi Attorney General’s Office.
