JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – Jackson police are investigating after the body of a missing man was found in a wooded area.

Detective Tommie Brown said the body of Arthur Ray Mikell, 76, of Jackson, was discovered Friday afternoon in a wooded area east of South Gallatin Street.

According to Brown, Mikell was reported missing on September 17, 2024. His vehicle, a white 2012 Dodge Ram 1500, was also recovered.

Mikell’s cause of death is under investigation.
