JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – A bridge will be closed for several months in Jackson.
Officials with the Mississippi Department of Transportation (MDOT) said the temporary closure will take place on both directions of U.S. 80 over the Pearl River at the Hinds/Rankin County line. Crews will replace the U.S. 80 bridge deck.
The closure is slated to begin on Monday, December 2, 2024, and expected to remain in place until summer 2025.
Drivers are encouraged to plan an alternate route around the closure using I-20, I-55, State Street and other local roads. Message boards will soon be in place to warn drivers of the upcoming closure.
