WALTHALL COUNTY, Miss. (WHLT) – Walthall County deputies are investigating after a woman was killed and four others were hurt during a shooting.

The shooting happened during a “large social gathering” just after midnight on Saturday, November 16 in the Sandy Hook community.

Chief Investigator Justin Dyar said deputies found a 23-year-old female deceased at the scene. Her body was sent to the State Medical Examiner for an autopsy.

The four injured victims were transported to local hospitals.

Dyar said investigators are asking for any information, pictures and videos from the gathering be sent to the Walthall County Sheriff’s Office. Anyone with information can contact the sheriff’s office at 601-876-3481.
