MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A DeSoto County Sheriff’s Office Jailer was tased by an inmate at the Adult Detention Center in Mississippi last week, according to the DeSoto County Sheriff’s Office.

On November 14, deputies say the jailer was involved in an altercation with the inmate around 10:45 a.m. That is when the jailer was tased.

According to reports, the jailer received minor injuries and the inmate has since been charged.

Deputies have identified the inmate as John Riles.

This is still an ongoing investigation.
