HAZLEHURST, Miss. (WJTV) – One person was injured after being shot at a Hazlehurst gas station, police said.

The shooting occurred in the parking lot of the A&J Food Store around noon on Saturday, November 30.

According to Assistance Chief Terrell Davis, multiple shots were fired at the location, and a male victim was injured. The victim was transported to the University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMMC) in Jackson. Family members said the victim was in stable condition.

Davis said investigators have identified a suspect in the case, but the suspect is not in custody. The motive for the shooting is unknown.
