JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – Troopers with the Mississippi Highway Patrol (MHP) responded to two fatal crashes during the 2024 Thanksgiving Holiday Travel Period.
The enforcement period began Wednesday, November 27 and ended on Sunday, December 1.
During this time, MHP investigated 187 crashes that resulted in 48 injuries and two deaths. The fatal crashes occurred in Leake and Marshall counties.
Troopers also issued a total of 6,662 citations, made 80 arrests for impaired driving, and cited 629 drivers for occupant restraint violations.
