JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – Multiple people were killed during a wrong-way crash on Interstate 55 in Jackson early Friday morning.

The crash occurred on I-55 at Daniel Lake Boulevard around 2:45 a.m. on Friday, December 6.

According to investigators, a Chevy Silverado was traveling south in the northbound lane of I-55 and collided with a Hyundai Sonata that was traveling north.

Detective Tommie Brown said the driver of the Chevy and the driver and four occupants of the Hyundai were pronounced deceased at the scene. He said the victims in the Hyundai included a man, a woman, a teenager and two children from Copiah County. The driver of the Chevy was from Scott County.
