MOORHEAD, Miss. (WJTV) – A student was airlifted to a Jackson hospital after he was shot on the Mississippi Delta Community College (MDCC) Moorhead campus.
Officials with the college said the shooting happened at the Edwards-Stonestreet Men’s Residence Hall around 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, December 5.
The male student was airlifted to the University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMMC) in Jackson for treatment. He’s in stable condition.
Officials said an unidentified suspect was arrested by law enforcement. The investigation is ongoing and could lead to additional arrests.
The MDCC Moorhead campus has been placed on lockdown until the end of the semester, with checkpoints placed at all entrances to the campus.
