Inmate escapes from Mississippi State Penitentiary

SUNFLOWER COUNTY, Miss. (WJTV) – An inmate has escaped from the Mississippi State Penitentiary, according to officials with the Mississippi Department of Corrections (MDOC).

They said Gregory Trigg is serving a total of 61 years for nine sentences, including armed robbery, two counts of kidnapping, residential burglary, conspiracy to commit a crime, and convicted felon in possession of a firearm. These crimes were committed in Madison County.

Trigg is also serving time for vehicle burglary and vehicle theft committed in Rankin County and nonresidential burglary committed in Scott County.

According to MDOC, Trigg is bald and has brown eyes. He is six-feet tall and weighs 200 pounds.
