JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – McComb Police Chief Juan Cloy returned to work after he was placed on administrative leave following a fatal officer-involved shooting.

McComb Mayor Quordiniah Lockley said Cloy returned to work on Monday, December 9.

The shooting occurred near the 200 block of 25th Street in McComb on November 14.

According to authorities, McComb police received calls about a suspicious vehicle in the area. They said four young men were inside the car.

“They were riding through the neighborhood with hoodies on and flashing rifles out of the vehicle. They had the community a little disturbed, a little upset, and they wanted the police department to be aware of what was going on,” said Lockley.

Officials with the Mississippi Department of Public Safety (DPS) said when police arrived, two suspects exited the car and presented a gun at the officers. Lockley said Cloy fired a shot, killing 16-year-old Jamorian Seiber.

The mayor believes Cloy followed protocol. The findings of MBI’s investigation have not been released.
