Inmate who escaped from Mississippi State Penitentiary captured

SUNFLOWER COUNTY, Miss. (WJTV) – Officials with the Mississippi Department of Corrections (MDOC) announced the inmate, who escaped from the Mississippi State Penitentiary, has been captured.

According to MDOC, Gregory Trigg was captured in Tulsa, Oklahoma. They plan to release more information at a later time.

Trigg is serving a total of 61 years for nine sentences, including armed robbery, two counts of kidnapping, residential burglary, conspiracy to commit a crime, and convicted felon in possession of a firearm. These crimes were committed in Madison County.

Trigg is also serving time for vehicle burglary and vehicle theft committed in Rankin County and nonresidential burglary committed in Scott County.
