JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – Jackson police are investigating an apparent murder-suicide after two bodies were discovered outside a home.

Jackson Police Chief Joseph Wade said the bodies were discovered in the 400 block of West Hill Drive around 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, December 14. They were located in the carport of the home.

According to Wade, 23-year-old Sharice Fowler and 26-year-old Darius Kyles were both found deceased with gunshot wounds.

The police chief said four children, ages 2-7, were found inside the home. Wade said the children had been inside the home since Wednesday. The children were transported to a local hospital for treatment, and Child Protective Services (CPS) were notified.

Wade said a death investigation is underway, but the case appears to be a murder-suicide. Investigators believe Kyles shot Fowler before he shot himself.
