FRANKLIN COUNTY, Miss. (WJTV) – A Franklin County woman has been charged in connection to the death of her ex-husband.

The Natchez Democrat reported the shooting occurred just after 12:30 p.m. on Friday, December 13 in the area of Old Loop Road in Franklin County.

Franklin County Sheriff Tom Tindle said Kacie Woods, 28, was charged with second-degree murder for the shooting death of James Woods, 53. Her bond was set at $300,000.

According to authorities, Kacie Woods said she acted in self-defense. She was held for questioning before she was charged.

The investigation is ongoing.
