Man arrested on multiple charges after Rankin County chase

FLORENCE, Miss. (WJTV) – Rankin County authorities arrested a man on multiple charges after a chase.

Florence police said officers stopped a black 2011 GMC Yukon on Highway 49 just before 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, December 17. They identified the driver as Thomas Fresquez.

Police said Fresquez fled from the traffic stop and headed north on Highway 49. With the help of Richland police, authorities spotted his vehicle near Kroger. They were able to disable three tires of Fresquez’s vehicle.

According to investigators, Fresquez’s vehicle continued traveling north and was later stopped by Richland police patrol car. They said a Richland PD K-9 was deployed into the vehicle, and Fresquez was removed.

Fresquez was charged with trafficking a controlled substance, felony fleeing, possession of a stolen firearm, possession of marijuana in close proximity of a firearm, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct FTC, false information to a LEO, suspended driver’s license, no insurance, expired tag and improper equipment.

Police said Fresquez also has a full extradition warrant from Colorado Springs, Colorado.
