HATTIESBURG, Miss. (WHLT) – Hattiesburg police arrested a fifth suspect in connection to the death of a 21-year-old man from Laurel.
Police said La’Marion Strickland, 19, of Hattiesburg was arrested and charged with first-degree murder and tampering with evidence. He’s being held in the Forrest County Jail.
Police said they responded to the 1800 block of Country Club Road around 4:00 a.m. on Sunday, December 15. They discovered an unresponsive man, who was identified as Jacquez Morris, 21. He died at the scene.
Hattiesburg police previously arrested the following individuals:
- Eric Fairley, 19, was charged with first degree murder
- Marquise Tillman, 24, was charged with one count of tampering with evidence and one count with accessory after the fact
- Lachae Woullard, 21, was charged with one count with accessory after the fact
- Durkenya Prater, 20, was charged with one count with accessory after the fact
Police said the investigation is ongoing and more information will be released once available.
