CRYSTAL SPRINGS, Miss. (WJTV) – Copiah County deputies are investigating after a man fell to his death from the roof of Crystal Springs Middle School.
The incident happened Friday evening after school was dismissed. Deputies said once they arrived at the scene, they discovered the man lying on the gym floor.
Copiah County Sheriff Byron Swilley said the man was working with other contractors to make roof replacement repairs before he fell.
“It was this was the last day of school before Christmas break. This was well after school. School actually ended today at approximately 1:45. There were no students or staff on campus when the incident occurred,” said Gerome Leflore, director of Safety at the Copiah County School District.
Swilley said other agencies will be on the scene Saturday to continue their investigation.
