LAMAR COUNTY, Miss. (WHLT) – A woman died during a crash in Lamar County.

The crash occurred on Highway 42 around 2:30 p.m. on Friday, December 20.

Officials with the Mississippi Highway Patrol (MHP) said a 2004 Toyota Sienna was traveling east on the highway when it collided with a 2021 Chevrolet Silverado that was also traveling east.

Troopers said the driver of the Toyota, 32-year-old Alaina R. McLeod, of Bassfield, received fatal injuries and died at the scene.

The cause of the crash is under investigation by MHP.
