JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – The Mississippi Highway Patrol (MHP) concluded the 2024 Christmas Holiday Travel Period on Thursday at midnight.
During the enforcement period, MHP investigated 172 accidents, including four fatal crashes with four deaths. The fatal crashes occurred in Pike, Noxubee, Stone and Lincoln Counties.
According to officials, state troopers issued 4,154 citations and made 54 arrests for impaired driving. They also cited 411 drivers for occupant restraint violations.
