ADAMS COUNTY, Miss. (WJTV) – One person died and multiple others were injured during a shooting on New Year’s Eve in Adams County.

The Natchez Democrat reported that the shooting occurred around 9:45 p.m. on Tuesday, December 31 in the area of Finger Lane off of Lower Woodville Road.

Adams County Coroner James Lee identified the victim as Keyuan King, 24, of Natchez. King’s body will be transported to the Mississippi State Crime Lab for an autopsy.

Adams County Sheriff Travis Patten said King was one of the five people who were transported to Merit Health Natchez for treatment. The sheriff said more people, who were possibly hurt, refused medical treatment at the scene.

According to Patten, three unidentified persons of interest were taken into custody Wednesday evening. They were arrested at the Rodeway Inn in Vicksburg around 6:30 p.m.

The investigation is ongoing.
