RANKIN COUNTY, Miss. (WJTV) – One person was injured after a train crashed into fallen tree in Rankin County.

The incident happened near the intersection of Gulde Shiloh Road and Highway 80 on Sunday, January 5.

Rankin County Sheriff Bryan Bailey said a freight train was involved in the crash. One person was transported to a local hospital.

Bailey said the railroad tracks at the intersection are closed. The sheriff said the crash was weather-related.
