JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – A Jackson firefighter was injured while battling a house fire early Thursday morning.

The fire occurred at a home in the 1500 block of St. Charles Street around 2:30 a.m. on January 9.

Assistant Fire Chief Patrick Armon said the home was about 60% involved with firefighters arrived at the scene.

According to Armon, one firefighter was injured but was not transported from the scene. The assistant fire chief said the firefighter will seek medical attention.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
