YAZOO COUNTY, Miss. (WJTV) – A man has been officially charged after a standoff at a Yazoo County apartment complex.
The Yazoo Herald reported Zedrick Grady, Jr., was charged with two counts of kidnapping and trespassing.
Deputies said they received a call about “unknown trouble” around 2:00 a.m. on Monday, January 6 at Oakhaven Apartments.
According to investigators, deputies encountered an upset man at the apartment complex, who stated he was armed and wasn’t coming out of the apartment building. Investigators said two women were still inside the apartment with Grady.
The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation (MBI) and the Mississippi Highway Patrol (MHP) SWAT also responded to the scene to assist.
Deputies said the two hostages were able to escape with no injuries after deputies cut a hole into the wall of the adjoining apartment.
Grady was taken into custody before 11:15 a.m. on Monday. Deputies said he was not injured.
