Which roads will be closed for the JSU National Champions Parade?

JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – There will be temporary road closures in downtown Jackson on Friday, January 17 for the parade that will celebrate Jackson State University’s (JSU) 2024 Celebration Bowl win.

Officials with the Mississippi Department of Transportation (MDOT) announced the following roads will be closed between 2:30 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. on Friday:

  • State St. will close from Pascagoula St. to Capitol St.
  • Capitol St. will close from State St. to West St.
  • West St. will close from Capitol St. to Pascagoula St.
  • Pascagoula St. will close from West St. to State St.

The closures will be in place for the JSU Tiger Football National Champions Parade. Drivers should seek an alternate route during the closure timeframe.
