GLUCKSTADT, Miss. (WJTV) – The City of Gluckstadt will soon have their first city election since the city was incorporated in 2021.
The Gluckstadt Mayor and Board of Aldermen were all appointed that year. Mayor Walter Morrison said the first four years have been successful for the city, and residents will get the chance to voice their opinion on the progress city leaders have made.
“Well, I hope they’re excited about it, and I hope they participate in it, because that’s the way the system is supposed to work. And they’ve had, you know, now almost four years of watching the city grow and prosper and develop. And hopefully, they’re pleased with that. And if they’re not, they have the opportunity to let everybody know it at the polls,” said Morrison.
The election will include the mayor’s seat and all five aldermen positions. Candidates have until January 31 to qualify.
