Central Mississippi

JSU Tiger Parade of Champions – Jackson – Friday

  • The championship parade will feature Head Coach T.C. Taylor and the national championship-winning Tigers team who defeated South Carolina State in the 2024 Celebration Bowl.

Fleet Feet Coffee Run – Ridgeland – Friday

  • The group usually makes a large loop around the area. After the run, the first round of coffee is free on Fleet Feet!

The Bridgid Ferguson Trio – Ridgeland – Friday

  • Buzz on over to McB’s Bar & Grill on Friday, January 17 and enjoy the sounds of The Bridgid Ferguson Trio – Bridgid Ferguson, Tim Avalon & Barrett Hathcock.

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Weekend Celebrations – Jackson – Friday, Saturday & Sunday

  • There will be several events this weekend that will celebrate and honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Of Salt and Spirit: Black Quilters in the American South – Jackson – Friday, Saturday & Sunday

  • This exhibition will feature over 50 handmade and machine-stitched quilts from MMA’s permanent collection, including Crossroads Quilters, Gwendolyn Magee, and several collected by American photographer Roland L. Freeman on his travels.

Storytelling Festival – Jackson – Saturday

  • This event is an artistic, literary adventure celebrating the art of storytelling in many forms with special guests, performances, and workshops.

Taste of Terrace Ramen Pop Up – Jackson – Saturday

  • Enjoy eggrolls, gochujang wings, shoyu fried chicken ramen, chili crisp ice cream sundaes from Elvie’s, Wingmouth, Good Bar and MayDay.

The Petty Things – Jackson – Saturday
