ADAMS COUNTY, Miss. (WJTV) – The Adams County sheriff announced five people were arrested in connection to a deadly shooting on New Year’s Eve.
The shooting occurred on Finger Lane in Adams County on the evening of December 31, 2024. Adams County Sheriff Travis Patten said one person was killed and five others were injured.
An investigation by the sheriff’s office led them to Vicksburg, where they arrested Jeremiah Clark, 23, of Natchez; Daryl Hurts, Jr., 26, of Natchez; and Aereia Hearron, 28, of Fayette; at a hotel on January 1, 2025.
Patten said deputies and Zachary police executed a search warrant in Zachary, Louisiana, on January 8 at the home of Riche Jackson, 24, of Fayette. He was arrested for narcotics violations by Zachary police.
Adams County deputies executed another search warrant with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office at a residence in Fayette.
Patten announced that Clark is being charged with murder, five counts of attempted murder, conspiracy to commit murder and possession of a stolen vehicle. He is in custody for two other unrelated homicides.
Hurts is being charged with murder, five counts of attempted murder, conspiracy to commit murder and felon in possession of a firearm. He is currently in custody for a probation violation, accessory after the fact and felon in possession of a firearm for an unrelated incident.
Jackson is being charged with murder, five counts of attempted murder, conspiracy to commit murder, possession of a stolen vehicle and accessory after the fact. He is current incarcerated for a bond revocation for an aggravated assault charge.
Hearron is being charged with accessory after the fact. She is currently in custody for accessory after the fact and felon in possession of a firearm on an unrelated charge.
Patten said Shartavia Johnson, 25, of Vicksburg, is being charged with accessory before the fact.
