HOLMES COUNTY, Miss. (WJTV) – Holmes County deputies are investigating after an 18-year-old was shot and killed.

Holmes County Sheriff Willie March said the body of Karterius Barksdale was found on the side of Huckleberry Road in Durant just before 3:45 p.m. on Monday, February 3. According to March, Barksdale had been shot multiple times.

The sheriff said the unidentified suspect stole the victim’s vehicle, which is a white 2004 Yukon with the license plate HLC532.
