Mississippi man charged in California vehicular manslaughter case

SMITH COUNTY, Miss. (WJTV) – A Mississippi man was arrested in connection to a vehicular manslaughter case in California.

Investigators said Smith County deputies and agents with the U.S. Marshals Service arrested Jimmy Ray Whitehead, 62, at his home north of the White Oak community on Thursday, February 6.

Whitehead was wanted in Riverside County, California, for vehicular manslaughter. Deputies said Whitehead will be extradited to California to face prosecution.
