JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – Jackson police arrested a Mississippi Highway Patrol (MHP) trooper on a sexual battery charge.

Detective Tommie Brown said Zachary McCroy, 29 was arrested on Thursday, February 13. He appeared in court and received a $100,000 bond.

Bailey Martin, press secretary for the Mississippi Department of Public Safety (DPS), said McCroy has been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of a due process hearing.

“Due to this being an open and ongoing investigation and pending personnel matter, no further comment will be made,” Martin said.
