WAYNE COUNTY, Miss. (WHLT) – The National Weather Service (NWS) confirmed that two tornadoes touched down in Mississippi on February 12, 2025.
According to the Mississippi Emergency Management Agency (MEMA), two injuries were reported in Wayne County.
Counties have reported 53 homes and six businesses were damaged. The following counties have reported they have received storm damage:
- Marion – 15 homes, 4 businesses
- Wayne – 38 homes, 2 businesses
MEMA officials said the agency has provided tarps and damage assessment teams to assist the affected counties.
MEMA encourages residents who’ve sustained damage from this severe weather event to do the following:
- File an insurance claim.
- Take photos of the damage to the home.
- Report damage to county/MEMA via the self-report tool.
