JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – Jackson police announced a man was arrested in connection to a fatal shooting at an apartment complex.

Detective Tommie Brown said Travaris Montreal Calhoun was arrested with the assistance of the U.S. Marshals Task Force. Calhoun was wanted on a first-degree murder charge.

The shooting occurred at Pine Ridge Gardens Apartments in the 200 block of Rebel Woods Drive just after 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, February 8.

Brown said the victim was shot at the location and transported to a local hospital. The victim, who was identified as Drewnard Minor, was pronounced deceased at the hospital.
