JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – Capitol police arrested a man in connection to a fatal shooting.

Bailey Martin, press secretary for the Mississippi Department of Public Safety (DPS), said officers arrested Jonathan Lott just before 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 18. They had assistance from the U.S. Marshals Service.

Lott has been charged with murder in connection to the death of a man on Bailey Avenue near Idlewild Street around 1:20 a.m. on Monday, February 10.

Martin said the victim, Jeffery King, 57, was found with apparent gunshot wounds.
