JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – Lt. Governor Delbert Hosemann (R-Miss.) returned to the Mississippi State Capitol one day after he collapsed on the Senate floor.
Hosemann was welcomed back by his colleagues with a round of applause on Thursday, February 20.
Video of the Mississippi Senate floor showed Hosemann collapsing on Wednesday, February 19.
A source told WJTV 12 News that Hosemann was able to stand up and was conscious as emergency responders rushed to his aid. We’re told he declined to be taken to a hospital.

“My pride was a little hurt falling out in front of everybody and interrupting the session. That’s not great. But, taught me a lesson, and I’ve got my water with me today,” Hosemann said on Thursday.
Hosemann said he’s hopeful that he will be able to participate in Saturday’s Mississippi Blues Marathon 5K.
