JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – Jackson police are investigating the death of a woman.

Detective Tommie Brown, with the Jackson Police Department (JPD), said detectives began investigating the incident that occurred in the 3200 block of Sears Street on Friday, February 21.

According to Brown, the victim, Amanda Harris, 36, was transported to the hospital in the early morning hours by a family member. Harris was deceased when she arrived at the hospital, investigators said.

Jackson police said per the Hinds County coroner, the case is being changed to death-pending.
