JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – Jackson police said a 15-year-old has been arrested in connection to the shooting death of a 68-year-old woman.

Detective Tommie Brown said Devin Nichols has been charged with murder and aggravated assault.

The shooting occurred in the 3800 block of Meadow Lane around 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 22. Brown said the victim, Thelma Wright, 68, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Nichols appeared in court on Tuesday, February 25. His bond was set at $500,000 on the murder charge and at $250,000 on the aggravated assault charge.
