WALTHALL COUNTY, Miss. (WHLT) – The National Weather Service (NWS) in New Orleans confirmed an EF-4 tornado and and EF-3 tornado hit Walthall County on Saturday, March 15.
According to the NWS, the preliminary report showed that the first tornado was an EF-4, and the peak wind speed was 170 mph.
The second tornado was an EF-3 that occurred after the EF-4. It’s peak wind speed was 140 mph.
Officials said the storms caused four fatalities in Walthall County. The Walthall County coroner identified the victims as Wilford Robinson, Sr., 90; Jeffrey Irvin, 42; Gabrielle Pierre, 34; and Carter Young, 7.
