JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – Jackson police are investigating an apparent murder-suicide.

The shooting occurred in the 1100 block of Forest Avenue on Friday, March 21.

Detective Tommie Brown, with the Jackson Police Department (JPD), said the victim and the suspect were both transported to a local hospital in critical condition.

On Saturday, March 22, Brown said investigators learned that the victim and the suspect both died from their injuries. They were identified as Destiny Stewart and Samuel Coleman.

The investigation is ongoing.
