RANKIN COUNTY, Miss. (WJTV) – Rankin County deputies announced a man, who was in a stolen vehicle, was arrested after a multi-county chase.

Investigator Tyler Burnell, with the Rankin County Sheriff’s Office, said a deputy attempted to stop a maroon Toyota around 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 3. The vehicle had been reported as stolen out of Oklahoma.

Burnell said the vehicle led deputies on a chase on I-20 eastbound, crossing through Scott and Newton counties.

As the vehicle approached the City of Newton, the suspect, 37-year-old Joshua Eric Jade Keen, exited the interstate. Burnell said Keen rammed a deputy’s vehicle, which caused his own vehicle to become disabled.

Keen was arrested. Investigators said he has multiple out of state felony warrants and a lengthy criminal history consisting of assault, fraud, theft and drug possession.

Keen was charged with felony receiving stolen property, felony fleeing and aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer. He is being held in the Rankin County Detention Center without bond.

Burnell said Keen’s most recent residency is in Corinth, Texas, but he is from and resided the majority of his life in Florida.
