MADISON, Miss. (WJTV) – There will be temporary lane closures on Interstate 55 in Madison County.

According to the Mississippi Department of Transportation (MDOT), the lane closures will take place on I-55 southbound over I-220 and the I-55 north ramp to I-220 west.

The closures will take place overnight on Tuesday, April 8 and Wednesday, April 9 between 8:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m.

MDOT officials said the alternating lane closures will allow crews to perform scans on the bridge decks.

Drivers should be prepared to slow down when approaching the work area and be on high alert for bridge crews.
