JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – A Jackson restaurant reopened its doors to the public, serving up decades-old classics while offering something new.
Eddie’s Soul Food, located off of Bailey Avenue, held a ribbon cutting on Tuesday, April 8.
The restaurant served soul food classics for more than 20 years before it closed when the original owner passed away, but Temica Morton, the daughter of Eddie Carson, brought Eddie’s Soul Food back to the community.
“He asked me to make sure that I keep the business going. And what I decided to do was close down, remodel this vision of it. The soul food was really his vision because he was actually getting ready to redo the building. And I just took his vision and made it my vision and made it possible all today,” Morton said.
She announced new items have been added to the menu. Eddie’s Soul Food will be open Tuesday through Friday and on Sunday.
