Jackson police arrest registered sex offender for woman’s stabbing death

JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – Jackson police announced a man, who is a registered sex offender, was arrested in connection to the stabbing death of a woman inside her home.

Detective Tommie Brown said Denarius McDonald was arrested on Tuesday, April 8, 2025. He is expected to be charged with capital murder.

Brown said the victim, Margaret Washington, 58, was found deceased inside her home on Exchange Drive on September 23, 2024.

Police believe the Washington’s vehicle was stolen by the suspect, and it was later found in South Jackson.

McDonald made his initial appearance in court on Wednesday, April 9, 2025. He was denied bond.
