Tortoise displaced by Tylertown tornado reunited with family

WALTHALL COUNTY, Miss. (WHLT) – A tortoise that was displaced by the tornado in Tylertown has been reunited with his family.

According to the Central Mississippi Turtle Rescue, the tortoise was found in Tylertown and brought to the rescue a few days ago.

Officials said the tortoise was injured and received medical care.

The rescue announced on Monday, April 7 that the tortoise was reunited with his family.

“He was either blown by the winds, or he walked out after the storm took out their fence. He’s got some injuries to overcome, but he’s at least back in the arms of his family. They missed him so much and are so relieved and grateful to have him back,” the rescue said.
