JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – Jackson police are investigating after a man was shot multiple times and died from his injuries.

The incident occurred around 12:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 19 in the 100 block of Savanna Street.

Police said they found a deceased man at the scene. He was identified as Steckie Black.

According to investigators, a person of interest has been identified in the case. The person of interest is not in custody.

The investigation is ongoing.
