HATTIESBURG, Miss. (WHLT) – One person was killed during a crash on Highway 49 in Hattiesburg.

Police said the crash occurred in the 4800 block of Highway 49 around 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 19. They said the crash involved a passenger vehicle and a semi truck.

The deceased victim has not been identified.

Authorities closed one southbound lane of Highway 49 while first responders worked to clear the scene.

The cause of the accident is under investigation.
