Oxford man sentenced for possessing child sexual abuse material

OXFORD, Miss. (WJTV) – Attorney General Lynn Fitch (R-Miss.) announced an Oxford man pled guilty to possession of child sexual abuse material.

On May 1, James Arnold was sentenced to 15 years in the custody of the Federal Bureau of Prisons followed by a 10-year term of supervised release.

Arnold was ordered to pay $41,500 in restitution to the victims identified in the offense. Arnold will also have to register as a sex offender upon release.

This case was investigated by the Attorney General’s Office and the FBI, and prosecuted by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Mississippi.
