MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A large police presence was seen outside a DeSoto County hospital Wednesday morning after an ambulance crashed into the building, police confirm.
The Southaven Police Department says the ambulance drove into Baptist DeSoto Hospital. The hospital told WREG in a statement that no patients were injured, but one staff member received minor injuries during the incident.

A suspect is now in custody. A witness on the scene claimed the ambulance was stolen, but police have not confirmed this.

“We are aware of the vehicle collision at our hospital, and we are working with the Southaven Police Department to investigate the situation. Fortunately, none of our patients were injured in the incident, and one staff member sustained minor injuries. The safety of our patients, staff, and visitors is always our top priority, and that is our focus at this time. We are grateful for the quick response from Southaven’s emergency response teams and will continue to work with them on this situation.”
