HATTIESBURG, Miss. (WHLT) – A driver managed to escape from a vehicle that was partially submerged in a Hattiesburg creek.

Police and firefighters responded to the crash at Gordon’s Creek near the intersection of High Street and Lurty Avenue just before 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 10. They found the vehicle had been partially submerged in the water beneath the bridge.

According to police, the driver confirmed they were able to escape before officers and firefighters arrived at the scene. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
