JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – Governor Tate Reeves (R-Miss.) announced the details of the upcoming special session, which will address the state’s budget for Fiscal Year 2026.
“Since it became apparent that a budget would not be passed during this year’s regular session, I’ve been clear that we should prioritize funding core government functions and keeping spending under control. That’s what the $7.135 billion proposed budget does. It funds the agencies and programs government needs to operate, while staying true to our conservative principles,” the governor said.
The special session will begin at 11:00 a.m. on May 28 at the Mississippi State Capitol.
