HINDS COUNTY, Miss. (WJTV) – Four people were injured during a crash involving a school bus and a pickup truck.
The crash occurred at the intersection of Highway 18 and Midway Road in Hinds County on June 5.
Officials with the Mississippi Highway Patrol (MHP) said the school bus was occupied by two adults and one child. All three occupants of the bus, along with the pickup truck driver, were transported to a local hospital for medical evaluations. The extent of their injuries is currently unknown.
Hinds County Sheriff Tyree Jones said the driver of the pickup truck was an off-duty transportation detention officer on his way to work.
The Hinds County School District released the following statement to WJTV 12 News.
The Hinds County School District is cooperating fully with local law enforcement as they investigate the cause of the accident. Additional updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
